music for schools

I.R. Guitar Lessons brings fun, accessible music education directly to local schools through our after-school enrichment programs. Our beginner-friendly classes are designed to get students making music from the very beginning, with no previous musical experience required.

We currently offer two after-school programs, Guitar 101 and Aloha Ukulele, taught by friendly, experienced music educators who believe that music is for everyone.

Guitar 101

Guitar 101 gives students with little or no experience the opportunity to discover the exciting world of guitar. Through fun, engaging lessons, students learn fundamental techniques while exploring different musical styles and genres.

Students are introduced to chords, strumming, picking, improvising, and multiple types of notation, helping them build a strong foundation for future musical growth. Along the way, they develop confidence, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for music while making music with their classmates.

Our warm, encouraging teachers are dedicated to helping every student succeed and discover that they, too, are musicians.

No prior experience is needed.

Aloha Ukulele

Aloha Ukulele introduces students to the joy of making music in a fun, supportive environment. Students learn basic ukulele skills and good playing habits while playing songs they know and love.

Along the way, students build confidence, make music with their classmates, and discover what makes music such a rewarding lifelong hobby. Our friendly teachers are dedicated to helping every child feel successful and understand that music is for everyone.

The ukulele's approachable size and sound make Aloha Ukulele a great introduction to playing an instrument and making music as a group.

Designed for After-School Enrichment

Both Guitar 101 and Aloha Ukulele are designed specifically for a group learning environment. Students learn alongside their classmates, play music together, and develop their skills week by week in a welcoming setting.

We work with schools, PTAs, enrichment coordinators, and after-school providers to make our programs easy to bring to campus. Classes can be adapted to accommodate different grade levels, schedules, and program lengths.

Instruments Provided

We want every student to have the opportunity to participate, regardless of whether they already own an instrument.

Instruments are provided for our after-school enrichment programs, making it easy for students to get started without families needing to purchase a guitar or ukulele.
